AI4Media is running its first open call to fund projects aiming to develop either new research in AI or innovative AI applications for the media sector.

As such, AI4Media aims to set up an external pool of experts to support the project in the evaluation of the applications received to the first and second open calls. The external pool of experts established through this expression of interest will consist of individuals with knowledge in an array of domains related to key AI and media topics addressed within the project. Experts will be selected through an open process to ensure independence and transparency in the evaluation of the applications submitted to the AI4Media open calls.

Who are we looking for?

AI4Media is looking for experts with knowledge in a wide array of domains aligned with the topics driving the defined open call challenges. The experts are also expected to have experience in evaluating EU-funded projects. Experts should have experience in at least one of the following topics:

What services are required?

The services to be provided will be done remotely and will involve the evaluation of a selection of applications submitted to the AI4Media Open Call #1. The evaluation process consists of an evaluation of the application, development of an individual evaluation report, interviews with applicants, and participation in consensus meetings.

Evaluators selected to participate in the evaluation will be required to sign a non-conflict of interest declaration and a contract with the AI4Media project coordinator, before being accepted to evaluate any application.

Your participation in the evaluations

Evaluators selected will be reimbursed for their time and effort based on the number of applications evaluated (minimum number to be agreed), with each application corresponding to a value of €50 considering all the services required.

Important Notice:

Please note that this expression of interest to participate in the AI4Media Open Calls evaluation as an external expert is NOT binding and does NOT represent any commitment to the AI4Media project.

The selection of the experts to support the evaluation of the AI4Media Open Call #1 will be carried out at a later stage as it depends on the number of applications received, their origin, and the domains that they address. The selection will also consider the origin of the experts, their affiliations, their expertise, and the balance between various criteria (e.g., gender, background, affiliation type, age, expertise, etc.). Furthermore, the project is obliged to frequently change experts that support the evaluations of applications.
